Bollywood singer and music composer Sachin Sanghvi, known for projects like Stree 2 and Bhediya, was arrested on Thursday over charges of sexual assault. He was later released on bail, according to PTI. Allegations The complainant, a woman in her 20s, alleged that Sanghvi sexually assaulted her after promising her a chance to feature in a music album. She also claimed that he had promised her marriage. The woman stated that she got in touch with Sanghvi in February 2024, after he sent her a message on Instagram. Following their social media interaction, they exchanged numbers, and Sanghvi reportedly called her to his studio. It was allegedly at this studio that Sanghvi proposed marriage and sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions, according to the complaint. Legal Proceedings Sanghvi was arrested under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). His lawyer, Aditya Mithe, stated: "The allegations in the FIR against my client are absolutely baseless and unsubstantiated. There is absolutely no merit to the case. My client's detention by the police was illegal and that is the reason why he was released on bail immediately. We intend to defend all allegations fully and unequivocally." Sachin Sanghvi himself has not commented publicly and his Instagram account remains deactivated.
