Punjab continues to grapple with one of the most devastating floods in decades as heavy rainfall and an extended monsoon wreak havoc across the state. While thousands of families struggle with destruction and displacement, several celebrities have come forward to express concern and extend their support to the victims.
On Thursday, singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh took to Instagram to share a heartfelt video message, standing in solidarity with those affected. Highlighting the grim reality, he said, “The situation in Punjab is very critical due to floods. Lakhs of acres of crops have been destroyed, cattle have died, and countless lives have been shattered. Punjab is wounded but not defeated. We have risen from the lap of Punjab, Punjab has nurtured us, and we will remain tied to its soil.”
He reassured flood-hit families that the support would not be short-lived. “This is not just about distributing food and water. Until their lives are rebuilt, we are all with them. Punjab’s youth, local NGOs, and regional media are working tirelessly on the ground, and I want to thank them sincerely. Our team has reached out to corporate houses, and many have come forward to extend help. We will overcome this together,” he said.
Diljit ended his message with a prayer, asking God to give strength to the affected families. “I pray to God to grant us the courage to face this calamity together as brothers and sisters, and that lives can be rebuilt once again. I love and respect everyone. If I have made any mistake in my words, please forgive me,” he concluded.
