Sri Amritsar:Six-year-old Teghbir Singh, who recently scaled Mount Elbrus—the highest peak in Russia and Europe—was today honoured at Sri Akal Takht Sahib for his remarkable achievement.
Officiating Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj presented him with a Siropa and Sri Sahib as a mark of respect. Jathedar Baba Tek Singh of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib was also present.
Earlier, Teghbir became the youngest child to reach Mount Everest Base Camp at age five and later scaled Mount Kilimanjaro, becoming the youngest Indian and Asian to do so.
Jathedar Gargajj praised his dedication and said Teghbir’s courage is an inspiration to youth around the world. He also honoured Teghbir’s family, encouraging them to support his future goals.
The brief ceremony at the Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib was also attended by Bagicha Singh and Jasvir Singh Longowal.
