Honorarium to Punjab Sarpanches will be given soon – Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal
If women sarpanches had taken command of the villages, the condition of the villages would have been much better than today

Jandiala Guru Kuljit singh September 21, 2022- Addressing the first seminar held in the state on strong partnership of women in Panchayati Raj institutions, Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal invited women sarpanches to come forward to facelift the villages.
The Rural Development Minister said that if the elected women Sarpanches, had taken over the reins of the villages in reality the condition of our villages would have been much better today. He said that the government has increased the reservation of sarpanches to 50 percent, people have elected women sarpanches by voting, but they did not have the command to work at the ground level. ‘If the women sarpanches had command of the villages, there would have been no drugs, illegal possession, philanthropy, enmity in the villages’ said Dhaliwal.
Stressing on the need to save our mothers the Minister said that today our three mothers, which include the birth mother, mother earth and mother tongue, are in crisis. He said that mothers are worried about the future of their sons and daughters, mother earth is suffering from the polluted environment and our mother tongue is threatened by English and other languages, so today it is necessary that sons as well as daughters protect their mothers. He called the women sarpanches to play a leading role to save our all three mothers.
Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that directions have issued that under no circumstances no relative of women sarpanch or panch should be allowed to interfere in office work, so now if you come forward for the development of villages, all the department officials and employees will warmly welcome you.
In response to a question regarding honorarium of sarpanches, he said that the allowance of sarpanches will also be released soon. He said that today's seminar is the basic training of sarpanches and such training will be given in every district to empower women sarpanches.
Today's seminar which was conducted under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner Development Mr. Ranbir Singh Mudhal all the speakers were women, which included Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Mrs. Surbhi Malik, AIG Kanwardeep Kaur IPS, Assistant Professor Dr. Nirmala, Dr. Amika Verma, BDPO Association President Ms. Navdeep Kaur, CDPO Khushmeet Kaur, Harsimran Kaur District Coordinator MNREGA, Sakhi One Stop Center Manager Preeti Sharma, Ms. Vibuti, Sanitation Officer, Deputy DEO Ms. Rekha Mahazan, Sarpanch Mrs. Manreet Kaur.
Besides this, Mrs. Jagdish Kaur Dhaliwal, Mrs. Nidhi Additional Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur, Principal Medical College Dr. Veena Chatrath, Sherry Malhotra SDM Batala, Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur Gill, Chetanpura, Mrs. Seema Sodhi AAP President, Mr. Satpal Sokhi, Mr. Ravinder Hans, Mr. Satwinder Singh Johal and other personalities werealso present.
On this occasion, checks worth about 20 lakh rupees were also distributed to 62 self-help groups under Ajivka Mission.
