A Chandigarh woman, Shilpa Arora, Co-founder and COO of Insurance Samadhan, has accused Uber of negligence after her daughter was left injured and unattended following a car accident near Mohali.
In a LinkedIn post titled “Where is Uber’s Responsibility?”, Arora said her daughter was on her way to college when the Uber crashed around 7:52 a.m. The impact was so severe that the airbags deployed. While the driver escaped unhurt, the children in the back were trapped. Arora alleged the driver fled, leaving bystanders to rescue the injured and take her daughter to Fortis Mohali hospital.
She said Uber never called, no FIR was filed, and no investigation was done. “If safety is Uber’s top priority, don’t they get alerts when a cab crashes?” she asked.
Arora and her husband rushed from Delhi, describing their feelings as “helpless and heartbroken.” She urged Uber to take responsibility for passenger safety, saying, “Can we really trust our children with strangers while companies walk away from accountability?”
