Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda passed away on Wednesday after an 11-day-long battle for life following a major road accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district. He was 35 years old.
According to reports, his mortal remains were first taken to his residence in Mohali’s Sector 71 and later transported to his native village in Jagraon, Ludhiana, where he will be cremated today after a post-mortem examination at Civil Hospital.
Jawanda had sustained severe head and spinal injuries in a motorcycle accident on September 27. He was admitted to Fortis Hospital, Mohali, in an “extremely critical condition.”
Hospital authorities confirmed that despite intensive medical care and prolonged ventilator support, his neurological condition remained severely compromised, with minimal brain activity. He ultimately succumbed to multi-organ failure on October 8.
Jawanda’s untimely demise has left the Punjabi music industry and fans across the world in deep sorrow. Known for his soulful voice and popular tracks, Rajvir Jawanda’s passing marks an irreparable loss to Punjab’s music fraternity.
